FREE** VCTH Training: Retaining Volunteers

Wednesday 27 November 2024, 10.30pm – 1pm, free* on Zoom

Would you like your volunteers to stay on longer with your organisation? This practical and interactive Zoom session will look at good practice and provide tips on encouraging them to continue volunteering with your organisation. We will cover:

  • Identifying volunteers’ motivations and how you can accommodate them
  • Detecting key ‘pressure points’ at which a volunteer may leave and how to address the issues
  • Think about progression routes for existing volunteers
  • Adapting your volunteer induction, training and supervision processes to focus on retention
  • Ensuring that volunteers and staff have realistic expectations
  • Creating a ‘volunteer friendly’ culture
  • Sharing ideas on types of reward and recognition

This session is suitable for experienced Volunteer Managers as well as those who are new to managing volunteers.

Venue: Zoom
Priority will be given to voluntary sector organisations with a base/office in Tower Hamlets, or that have services aimed at Tower Hamlets residents

**Cost: Our training programme is funded by the City Bridge Foundation.

Managing Volunteers - Resources

VCTH produces factsheets on managing, recruiting and retaining volunteers so you're always up-to-date with best practice in volunteer management. We also cover topical issues. For instance, we have factsheets on safeguarding during the pandemic or on which roles require a DBS check. Access our factsheets on managing volunteers.
